Home School Information
When you choose to home school there is no requirements for you to register through the State. When you do register through the State, your child will be able to receive additional services. If your child is need of Special Education Services, if you want your child to attend the public school to receive non core classes (Spanish, art, music, shop, etc), or if you want to use REMC 2 South's services (video's, elision dyes, book sets, etc) then you must register through the State. Listed Below is the contact name and number to receive your packet to fill out. Michigan Department of Education sends us (Wexford Missaukee ISD) a list every year of those people that are registered.

The Nonpublic Schools and Home Schools Unit is housed within the Office of Government Services and Customer Satisfaction. This unit provides leadership and technical assistance for the following programs:
 
Home Schools – Leadership, technical assistance, nonpublic school data, and home school packets are provided to families, nonpublic schools, local and intermediate school districts, state agencies, and other interested parties. Consultative assistance for obtaining services for special needs students and legislative clarifications are also provided.
 
Nonpublic Schools – Leadership and technical assistance to nonpublic schools to qualify for participation in programs including: Title I and Title VI programs, Regional Educational Media Center (REMC Services, bus transportation and the Safe and Drug Free Schools program). In addition, nonpublic school students whose schools have met the reporting requirements are evaluated for auxiliary services provided by the public school system.
