Performance of Past Plans

The majority of the goals, objectives and activities of the previous plan were realized. However, activities such as staff development/training, curriculum integration, student outcomes, technical support, maintenance and upgrades are not items that are ever fully achieved. Below is a partial list of some of the significant achievements of the past plan.

A comprehensive voice, data and video network exists within the seven local districts.

A variety of educational and administrative software programs have been purchased through consortium efforts and are available on the WAN.

All districts have purchased and installed "Teaching and Learning Labs" with common hardware, software and connectivity.

Hardware, software and infrastructure standards have been established ISD wide.

Interactive TV classes are offered daily including regular curriculum, AP, and dual enrollment classes.

A "professional development center" with connectivity has been implemented.

A variety of collaborative efforts and partnerships have been established with groups including but not limited to all local districts, Carl Johnson Hunting and Fishing Museum/DNR, Mecosta-Osceola ISD, Manistee Regional Math/Science Center, Manistee ISD, West Shore Community College, COOR ISD, and Parent groups.

All classrooms have voice, data, and video systems installed with connectivity.

Numerous adaptive device both software and hardware are being utilized to assure equal access to technology.

Several connectivity projects have been funded and presently being implemented including: MOISD, MOISD Math and Science Center, Manistee ISD, Manistee Regional Math/Science Center, West Shore Community College, and Mason Lake ISD.

Technical support has expanded including a Technology Coordinator and a student Coop program.

There are four computer labs available through the Career Technical Center and one at the Administrative building for professional development and other community and business/industry, and parent initiatives.

Both intra and Internet electronic communications systems are in place.

A variety of administrative tasks are now accomplished electronically.

Scheduling and distribution of REMC materials are completed electronically through the Web Max Internet system.

Numerous training and professional development activities have been provided with a noted increase in skill levels throughout the organization.

A web site has been established and continues to evolve with additional information being added on an ongoing basis.
